10 Tips For An SEO Optimised Blog Post

SEO Tip Number 1: Blog articles with images get 94% more views.

We all know the many advantages of blogging: improved SEO, increased Google ranking and it generates traffic to your website. But coming up with Relevant, interesting and engaging content can be difficult. Yet, that’s not even the hardest part when it comes to blogging. Optimising your posts can be the trickiest component, especially for any newbie.

But how does one optimise blog posts in the first place?

1. Research

Think before you write. Do your research and find out what is currently on trend, in the news or what people find relevant.

What is the purpose of your post, is there a message you want to tell or a certain question you want to answer? Thoroughly think about your post before you start writing it, there is nothing worse than a badly researched post.

2. Keywords

There is nothing more important than your keyword research. Once you think of a topic research it and come up with relevant keywords, that target the main topic of the posts. You will need to make sure that your keywords are placed strategically throughout your blog post for maximum reach:

  • Title
  • Headings/Subheadings
  • First sentence
  • End paragraph
  • Anchor text
  • Title tags, meta descriptions, alt attributes

A Little tip, don’t stuff your blog post with keywords. Make sure they are integrated perfectly into the sentence and make sense.

3. Heading

Headings are super important. Not just because they make a text look more aesthetically pleasing, but they are also relevant for your Google rankings.

Headings help Google to know what your post is about and can, therefore, help with your rankings. It is, therefore, crucial to make them relevant to your paragraphs/text and to also include subheadings.

A Little tip, include your keywords in both the main heading and the subheadings.

4. Paragraphs

Using paragraphs is essential, but make sure to only use them when they are relevant and not because it would look good. Every paragraph should have a meaning, an idea or a subject.
