Google Analytics is essential to understanding your website’s users and how they interact with your site.

You can access certain metrics in Squarespace, but Google Analytics allows you to dig deeper and understand more.

Google Analytics

First, sign up for Google Analytics. You can use your current Google account, if you already have one.

If you get lost, here's more information on setting up Analytics.

Note: You don't need to modify any code. Once you have the Tracking ID, move on to the Squarespace section below.

Squarespace

1. Navigate to your Squarespace account.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Advanced.
4. Click External Services.
5. Paste the Tracking ID into the Google Analytics Account Number area.
6. Click save.

It can take up to 24 hours for data to start rolling in, but now that you’re setup, there’s so much more you can track!
