With the arrival of the digital world, rose a worry regarding traditional campus learning. With the availability of all the courses that a Student needs online, the concern for paying a hefty fee for a 4 year or a 3-year course grew.

Credentialing, the process of maturing along, building connections and formal assessments are no doubt the essential values of traditional education or learning. However, they all miss the opportunity to learn with, through and about their fellow learners. To deliver this in a traditional Classroom is not an easy task. The facilitator needs a huge amount of planning, structuring and control over on how they spend the class hours. They also need to have real-time interaction with their students in class, where the students are so used to the digital world.

Koshys Group Of Institutions(KGI), for a better future, has taken the initiative to enable the students to learn all the basic building blocks outside the classroom through digital space and then using the classroom hours to ensure that students work on complex, real-world, group-oriented problems. In short, make the classroom about Experiential Learning.

The process of Experiential Learning involves self-initiatives, self- assessments and hands-on activities. In today’s world, multi-faceted thinking and solutions are the key factors that are required to be successful. To get in multiple things into a human system is not easy for a single person, but when there are multiple things and a group to work on it all the hidden values are gotten out, and in turn builds an opportunity to observe and learn from the others in a group.

The most difficult qualities to find and are highly valued are: the ability to think critically and creatively; to collect, sift and clean data; to hypothesize, test and infer; to work with others, and to communicate effectively. KGI’s Experiential Learning classroom training on experiential learning, conducted in small groups of students, can enhance each of these skills. Students ask questions and make mistakes in smaller, trusted and safer-feeling environments. Learning by making mistakes and working through them also replicates real-world experiences better than a more traditional college experience.

KGI’s Experiential Learning interactive classroom, In the current scenario, it is the “flipped” classroom. Recorded lectures are assigned as homework to students. Students prepare with the lecture even before coming to the class, then, the entire classroom session is spent on interactive, experiential learning methodologies. KGI’s facilitator goes around the class that is divided into small groups engaging the students as they work on experiential projects.  The group work, the real-world orientation, the safer questioning, the learning with, through and about others, the extra time to do all this—these are the core contributions of the flipped classroom methodology.
