Conjunctions (Entry 2)

At Entry Level 2, Learners need to be confident using Conjunctions. I have created this resource (my day out) to allow learners to recognise how boring a text may read without useful connectives. To use this resource effectively, you could:

  1. Ask for volunteers to read the text aloud and then ask the class what they notice about the text.
  2. Encourage learners to re-write the sentences using common conjunctions. For differentiation, you could give examples of conjunctions to those who struggle and for those who need a stretch in their learning, you could avoid providing them with connectives.
  3. Creative writing task - you could ask learners to plan, draft and re-write a text about their day out. Learners can put conjunctions into practice.
