“Wait to see the sunset”

The day plays clearly on the back of my head still. You held my shaking hand and asked me to raise my head up that had been bent for a long time. I did not realize that I had been Holding myself and keeping aloof. I used to carry all the things, or should I say unnecessary things within me which saddened me sometimes. I did not know to just leave it and march towards a new day. Your word still echoes in my ear and I feel it runs through my veins. Each word you spoke to me on that day made me see things differently. The way you asked me to welcome each day with a new Hope, and to let go all the negativities before I go to bed.

“It’s Not Whether You Get Knocked Down, It’s Whether You Get Up.” – Vince Lombardi

I was just a school-going girl who hardly understood the words coming from a matured person whereas I did understand you. So, I tried seeing it differently and I decided to open my arms wider to welcome each day of my life peacefully.

I realized that the practice of accepting and letting things go have been giving me peace, hope and the zeal to see every new day.

Every morning I thank God for the new day and set  simple goals  for myself each day.

As the day goes, I entertain myself and do everything that makes me happy. Forgetting everything that pulls me back, I just go on.

Every evening when I see the Sunset, I cannot help but admire the art of God and then recollect the things that I have done during the day. Thereby, I filter the things that stay with me and discard the rest.

Then,  I sleep to regain the energy with peace of mind and satisfaction. However, I meet the loved ones in my dreams. Some of it stays with me while some fade away and only the traces of it remain in my heart.

“Beauty is the purest feeling of the soul. Beauty arises when the soul is satisfied.”

Amit Ray

This is how my days go by, and it has been motivating me to live the same way. So, I thought it could be helpful to people out there reading the poem penned down below, expressing the way I live each day of my life and admiring it.

As the day passes by, I wait to see the sunset

Which is the God’s own painting in the sky

With each breath, replaying my own deeds

Holding onto the few while the others I let go.

Crawl up on the bed, after few twists and turn

Like an innocent child, I sleep with no sign of worry

Dreaming of people and things that I love

Having only the traces of it as I wake up.

With the fresh air, I start a brand new day

The sun bringing the warmth to the heart

While the air filling in hopes for the day

With open arms, I welcome each day.

With highs and lows, with yes and no

With dreams to fulfil, I go through the way

Reminding myself to never get astrayed

I wait each day to see the sunset.
