“We can do it Mom; I am with you!”

Yes, your guess is right, it’s my Cute little princess!

It was a pleasant morning, the cool breeze was rubbing our cheeks and soon we reached the place where I had an Interview scheduled. My daughter was just 16 months old, the vision of playing with her dad in the campus till I completed my interview is still crystal clear in my mind even today. It was a day of celebration with my appointment letter accompanied with my little family.

Since that day, she has been the sole support to my profession.

Soon after my joining, she was sent to reside with my parents who are 1200 kms away from us. When I went to drop her, I was confined in a room for 2 days to make sure whether she could stay without me. My heart had wept at that time to just watch her through the eye hole of a door for 2 days and not been able to embrace her.

8 Months- It was a journey without her constant chatter, gigglings, cries, and cranks to get settled with my profession. It was the most painful days, but her happiness with grandparents and her cute dance videos kept motivating me through this tenure..

At two years of age she  returned from her grandparents, and was immediately put in creche for about 6 hours initially which later increased to 9 hours a day. She hardly knew few words to speak at that age.

My only princess had been like water who got adjusted wherever she was put in: maternal family, day care centre, care takers and pre-school teachers. Initially, she cried for a whole day to get adjusted to the new environment, almost for weeks time babysitting and slowly as days passed, she became silent. She was fed only one meal a day by me and rest by the caretakers. This brought her physical health down, and she fell sick often, due to which she had to be taken to paediatrician every month.

But she never gave up, she continued to keep up her liveliness, started her wield of pen with colourful drawings and her endearing  dancing moves.

She spent all her Saturdays at my workplace – her bed was my working table and her blanket was my shawl.

Once, when I got too late to reach her, with tears rolling down, I arrived at the gate of the creche where I found her playing happily with friends, which leaped  my confidence.

At the age of 5 and a half, she says “Mamma, you work so hard and I am with you.” And, she accompanies me to the office during this pandemic with all her toys and gives me enough space  to work in order to keep my words of service to the organization.

Warmth in her hugs uplifts my spirit and inspires me to move ahead.

“What sunshine is to flowers, and tides are to the sea, is nowhere as important you’re being in my life is to me.” – C Stellar

Her precocious nature at this tender age motivates me to perform better and set an example to all the mothers out there having many dreams, looking forward to being fulfilled in their respective field of interests.
