7 Things alternate to Phineas and Ferb’s Summer List
Are you like Phineas and Ferb who spend every day of their summer break doing incredible things?
Now, who wouldn’t want their summer break to last forever? It might seem impossible to be like them,
but you can do the following things this summer and make it interesting.
1. Read Books

This might sound a little boring, but starting early could save you a lot of sleepless nights and unnecessary
drama. When you get back to school, it could definitely get your grades up. Organise your subjects into
hourly slots and do a little every once in a while; your future self will thank you, believe me! Apart from
course books, try novels like, Agatha Christie series, Sherlock Holmes or the classics for leisure reading-
The Invisible Man, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for science fiction; girls would enjoy the capers of Anne of
Green Gables, or sink into the drama of Little Women(Louisa May-Alcott). Enid Blyton’s adventures for
beginner readers. (The older ones must give books of authors like Dan Brown, Jules Verne,  Jeffrey Archer
and John Grisham a read, you will absolutely love it, trust me!)

    2. Enjoy the great outdoors

Step out into the fresh air. Simple outdoor pleasures are highly underrated. Not only is a quick trip out of
the house invigorating and mood-lifting, but also a great opportunity for exercise. If you have been thinking
of reducing those bulges, then go out and jog, walk or do any outdoor physical activity you enjoy.

      3. Travel

Travelling can be a massive adventure and loads of fun! Convince your parents for a trip, or tag along with
grandparents to the native village. Explore the countryside. Observe, sketch and write about what’s different
from your place. Indulge in activities you normally wouldn’t attempt at home. Milk a cow. Harvest fruits.
Learn the local dialect. The destination isn’t important, what you do is important. Embrace adventures with
open arms and collect experiences. The stories will entertain your guests throughout your life. It doesn’t
matter whether you go solo or take a friend - you can be sure you’ll return with wonderful memories and
        amazing stories to tell.

        4. Seek your hidden talent

This is the right time to find out what talent lies in you. You might be blessed with a capability of singing
or painting or writing. Find that out if you haven’t. And if you know what you are good at, then fine tune it
and become the best you can.

          5. Learn new things and develop new skills

Would you like to test your skills in a different discipline? You can challenge yourself by taking up a short
course and learning about something completely new! Pursue your personal interests and gain access to a
subject you might not be able to study in your own academic institution. Dare to discover and nurture a
passion for a particular subject. A new skill is always a great addition to your CV and will help you stand
out in the highly competitive academic world. Try short-term courses in film-making or fashion designing.
Love birds? Certificate courses in ornithology and forest ranger training are offered at Salim Ali Bird
Sanctuary and Melghat Tiger Reserve, respectively. Volunteer for an NGO, or a social initiative. Intern at a
local firm that deals in things of your interest. Learn meditation to gain control over your nerves.  Gain a
diverse knowledge base to open new career opportunities and improve your self-confidence.

            6. Get some work experience

Whether you’re earning money to buy things you like or just looking for experience you can put on your CV,
working should definitely be on your list of things to do this summer! In the event that you can’t find paid
work, try volunteering for a good cause (and it won’t look too bad on your CV either).

              7.Enjoy yourself

It’s the summer vacation after all. Balance relaxation after a demanding academic year with continuing your
personal development. Having a change of scenery in a different environment is a chance to clear your mind
and gain a new perspective. Find the summer course that best suits your needs and expectations - it could be
filled with adrenaline, like trekking. If you feel you’ve had a tough year, you can always choose a shorter or a
less challenging summer course. This could include taking time for your hobbies - cooking classes or art
                workshops.

Either lazily sit on your couch all day watching Phineas and Ferb’s awesome summer break or have your own
adventures every day. If you have reached till here, you must have probably decided and planned your summer
                productively.

What other activities do you do to make your summer the coolest ?
