Teaching is not a child’s play

Education cannot be constrained to reading and taking notes within the four walls. For years now, students practice learning subjects by rote, in fact are often actively encouraged so by parents and many teachers (or private tutors) to score higher in examinations. This takes away from the spirit of learning and leaves the Student undercooked when it comes to applying the knowledge in the real world.

The most important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely.
                                                                                                                                        ~Albert Einstein

A child needs to be moulded in such a manner that gives him the ability and courage to explore himself openly with others. Only when he starts taking risks and faces his fears will he be able to hone his analytical and logical thinking skills. Frequent questioning and challenging these very theories will get his creative juices flowing. All this will make that child so much more confident in solving his own problems. They must also be taught to express their ideas, feelings and opinions through good practices of teaching.

Instead of stressing on learning through books solely, schools must also take care to develop a child’s personality by including activities and projects that have personal appearance, social adaptability, courtesy, emotional stability, trustworthiness, honesty, dependability and self reliability as their highlight.

In short, the school must be absolutely student friendly so that they feel the urge to come in not because it’s an obligation but because they love to. Also, I feel the use of smart classes should be done smartly. No matter how good the audio visuals are, a personal touch always makes a difference in increasing its effectiveness.
Interaction about any particular topic makes it even more interesting but just playing audio visuals is as good as giving a discourse. Like everything has its boons and banes, therefore to increase involvement and in-depth participation of the class, teachers may do a small activity or deliver a short engaging talk before or after these smart classes to leave a lasting impression. Not to mention doubts and discussion sessions really help kids grasp topics with better ease than mugging them up. This also helps such students who hesitate to put their point or clarify themselves in front of the class.

It is time that teachers took their responsibility towards the society sensitively and encouraged innovative and effective methods of knowledge sharing.
