According to a June 1, 2018 report by the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the United States added 223,000 jobs in the month of May and the unemployment rate lowered to 3.8%.
One of the industries that experienced the most significant growth was healthcare. 29,000 Healthcare Jobs were added in May, including over 6,000 jobs in hospitals. According to the BLS, employment of healthcare jobs is projected to grow 18% from 2016 to 2026, adding 2.4 million new jobs. This is much faster growth than the average for all occupations.
