Know Your Janma Rashi and Janma Nakshatra

If you do not know, Janma Rashi Calculator (rashi and nakshatra finder) can easily help you know your moon sign at birth i.e., Janma Rashi as well as the ruling star i.e., Janma Nakshatra at birth. These factors (Janma Rashi and Janma Nakshatra) form an essential part of the Indian System of Astrology for making astrological predictions.

To understand further, four factors are needed before you use the Janma Rashi Calculator. These factors are your date of birth (dob), time of birth (tob), time zone and daylight saving. For eastern longitudes (like India), the time zone is 05h 30m. For western longitudes, the time zone will be negative (minus sign). Also you must check if there is any daylight saving.

As per Indian Astrology, the moon sign (janma rashi) is important for transit (gochara) results. These days one finds a lot of websites doling out daily horoscopes, weekly horoscopes, monthly horoscopes and annual horoscopes based upon the Sun sign following the western methods. The Sun sign predictions will rarely hit the mark even in general terms. Many astrologers and astrology websites fail to mention whether their predictions are based on Moon sign or Sun sign. This brings disrepute to the science as people may read predictions of a different sign mistakenly. Most of the general public goes by their Sun sign since only the date of birth (dob) is involved. Herein comes the importance to know one’s Janma Rashi and Janma Nakshatra for which it is essential to use the Janma Rashi Calculator.

Astrologically, there are twelve (12) signs in a zodiac of thirty (30) degrees starting from Aries. The Moon completes one whole revolution is about 27 days approximately which means it stays in each zodiacal sign for about 2 to 2.5 days. There are twenty seven (27) nakshatras or star constellations (not counting Abhijit) as per Indian Astrology. These nakshatras are divided into four (4) padas (steps or parts). Hence, we have nine (9) nakshatra padas (27 * 4 divided by 12) in each zodiacal sign. Since the motion of the Moon is almost 12 times faster than the Sun, day to day changes in one’s life can be expected – and they do happen. In a later post, I will explain further about how to understand about one’s characteristic traits, strengths and weaknesses based on one’s Janma Rashi and Janma Nakshatra which can be easily ascertainable (if you do not know) from the Janma Rashi Calculator.

Janma Rashi Calculator not only ascertains one’s rashi (lunar birth sign) but also informs about one’s Janma Nakshatra i.e., it is both Rashi and Nakshatra Finder.
