Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday in the 22nd edition of Modi’s monthly radio programme.
In his address, PM Modi talked about the the rio Olympics, technological development and remembered APJ Abdul Kalam.
He informed people about government’s Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan.
PM Modi said “We have started Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan. Free check-up will be given in govt health centres to pregnant women on 9th of every month.”
On flood affected areas, PM Modi said “State governments and centre are working closely to help the flood-affected people.”

The regional language versions of the programme will be aired by AIR stations in respective regions at 8 pm.

In the last edition of the programme, PM Modi had recalled the ‘black night’ of Emergency imposed 39 years back in 1975 by the then PM Indira Gandhi and had asserted that democracy was India’s strength.
