Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday slammed Cab Aggregators for Surge Pricing during the implementation of the second phase of the odd-even scheme in Delhi saying that, “Surge Pricing is daylight robbery.”
“Surge pricing is daylight robbery. No responsible govt can allow that,” he wrote in a series of tweets.
“Some taxis saying they will not provide cab if they are not allowed to loot. This is open blackmailing n govt will not let that happen.”
“We are not against taxi Aggregators. We fully support them. They provide imp service to people. But they will have to follow law,” he wrote.
Earlier, the Delhi CM had warned the radio-cab services including Ola and Uber against charging fares more than the government prescribed rates.
Uber had responded positively saying that it was ‘suspending surge pricing with immediate effects.’ Ola too had followed Uber’s lead.
However, 18 ola and Uber cabs were impounded the following day for overcharging.
