The doors of the scared dham of Badrinath were opened today, and President Pranab Mukherjee was the first to visit the holy place among the other visitors.
President Mukherjee left for Badrinath from Dehradun in a chopper, around 7:30 AM and he reached the shrine to offer prayers at around 8:45 AM.

According to News Nation report, Over 500 security personnel were by President’s side. On Friday, deputy inspector general of police (Garhwal Range) Pushpak Jyoti and Garhwal commissioner Vinod Sharma visited Badrinath in Chamoli district to review the security arrangement.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Kedarnath Temple on May 3.

The doors of the temple are now open for devotees, for this year’s summers.
