Congress-Samajwadi Alliance Over, Focus On Mobilising ‘Committed’ Workers: Raj Babbar

Speaking out for the first time since the Congress and Samajwadi Party ‘youth’ duo of Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav failed miserably in the UP assembly elections, UP Congress Chief Raj Babbar clarified that the party will contest the state civic elections alone.

“We have decided that the Congress will contest the forthcoming urban civic polls alone in Uttar Pradesh, without allying with any party, including the Samajwadi Party,” Times of India quoted Babbar as saying.

Babbar said that following the performance of the alliance in the UP assembly polls there were meetings with district level workers, winners in the elections and with those who secured more than 1 lakh votes and then only any decision was taken.

Coming up, party officials have been told to focus on the elections and mobilise committed workers, said Babbar.
