The Border Security Force on Wednesday dismissed Tej Bahadur Yadav, the soldier who had complained about the sub-standard food being served to the jawans.

Sources in BSF said that Tej Bahadur Yadav was found guilty on certain charges of indiscipline. He has been dismissed from service as per the provisions of BSF act and rule.

Earlier this year, Yadav had posted videos on social media highlighting that jawans posted on the border were being served low quality food, which BSF later denied.

After the video went viral on social media, the Prime Minister’s Office too had sought a detailed factual report on it from the Union home ministry and the BSF.

A PIL was also filed in the Delhi high court seeking a direction to the government to depute higher officers to supervise cooking of proper healthy food and its distribution. It sought a status report regarding the quality of food served to soldiers along the LoC.
