Spady hosts dynamic MLK breakfast

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – At its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast, the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum welcomed a sold-out audience of more than 300 people, a dynamic pastor, choir and a theatrical performer. This year the event was held Jan. 15, 2024, at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach, Fla. The lineup included the Rev. Toby T. Philpart, senior pastor and teacher of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach; ensemble True Worship; actor Tiffany Terrell; and pianist Mikael Darmanie. “We come together as a community, break bread together, which is one way to get each other better,” said Charlene Farrington, Spady Museum director. “We’re extremely proud of how the Brunch has evolved into a full-fledged celebration of Dr. King’s work and vision.” Pictured clockwise from top left, are Charlene Farrington and Anetha Walker, Iola Mosley and Flora Philbert, Shirley Johnson and Stacey Copeland, Christoper Redding and Serena Redding.
