A number of Nigerian football loyalists cannot seem to contain their euphoria following Odion Ighalo’s recent signing. More importantly, this probably means a great deal; a silver lining for Manchester United fans.

The Nigerian football superstar; Odion Ighalo, has been in the news, both local and international, sequel to the deal with Manchester United. He’s been signed to the club on loan, from Shanghai Shenhua for 6 months. This deal was invaluable to the obvious dearth of a striker in the team; Marcus Rashford had just been bedridden for 3 months.

Odion Ighalo made his debut appearance at Manchester United in the game against Chelsea on Monday, 17 February 2020. And, history was made! This feat makes him the first Nigerian to make an appearance for the club since its inception of 142 years.
