“By the streets of Lagos, there we trekked. Yeah, we lamented, when we remembered the heyday”. Such was the song on the lips on many Lagosians since the state government placed a ban on an inevitable mode of transportation.
Just before the details, our song was adapted from “By The Rivers of Babylon”, just in case you were wondering. Back to base, the Lagos State Government has placed a ban on motorcycles and tricycles plying major roads in the state. And oh, this is all thanks to the SanwoOlu-led administration.
Lamentations and complaints, and probably curses too; have strolled in, following the development. Lagos is an in-built; struggle-centric hub. Sometimes, some of us resort to making lemonade from the little lemon that’s left. As insignificant as boarding a bike is, it has the tendency to save a generation from the depression that comes with Lagos traffic.
