NYSC DG; Brigadier Shuaibu Ibrahim with some Corps Members at Buchi state

The Federal Government, in association with The National Youth Service Corps, has approved the new allowance for National Corp Members. The Director-General; NYSC, made the revelation in a session with Corps Members at Bauchi state.

According to the DG; Brigadier Shuaibu Ibrahim, the novel development is in line with the implementation of the new National Minimum Wage. It is noteworthy to recall, however, that the bill has been signed by the President since April 2019. Sometime in September of the same year, while addressing Corp Members at the Orientation Camp, Lagos, the NYSC DG mentioned:

Your monthly allowance would be increased immediately the Federal Government starts the payment of the new minimum wage to all public servants nationwide.

Shuaibu Ibrahim also doused rumours spreading across the internet that the former allowance is being paid. He added that Corps Members’ new allowances would be fully implemented once funds are released by the appropriate authorities.
