Since yesterday; Monday 20 January, we’ve had rumours flying in the air about John Legend being in Nigeria. Many people had reasons to doubt it since there was no credible source to confirm it. The rumours lingered until it was eventually disclosed that the Grammy-award winning musician, was actually in Nigeria.

Undoubtedly, his visit to Nigeria was exclusive, low-profile and unobtrusive. John Legend was in Nigeria to perform at the ThisDay Award Ceremony, last night. He was hosted by the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief; ThisDay Media Group – Nduka Obaignena. [Aside: Mehn! Nigerians sure know how to pull ritzy strings!]

It is noteworthy to mention that John Legend is the only Black Man to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony; the collection of which is referred to as the prestigious ‘EGOT’. So yeah, a prestigious artiste visits Nigeria on a prestigious note!
