5 Facts You Probably Didn’t Know About The World War 3 Tensions

SOURCE: Amala

Over the week, the world experienced what we might describe as a downplay of ‘international tussle of power’. We have probably never had a discourse that controversial; both hilarious and saturnine at the same time. Although it got everyone talking, what’s worse is that we made global memes out of the situation! Our reactions to the prospect of warfare and combat, depict how desensitised we are as a society. But then, that’s subjective.

General Qasem Soleimani; a major stakeholder in the Iranian military operations, was killed in a US airstrike, three days into 2020. Let’s do a quick situation analysis: General Soleimani is regarded as the second most powerful man in Iran; following the Supreme Leader. Ideally, the US army just took out Iran’s Vice President and Major General. We bet you have an inkling on the gravity of the situation and yes, it’s not as funny as some people think it is.

We have outlined major events that have trailed this tension:

1. Iran Has Placed an $80M Bounty on Donald Trump’s Head

Here’s what the speech read from Iran:

“On behalf of all Iran’s people – 80 million Iranians – and each puts aside US $1, it would equal $80 million.

And we would give this $80million, on our own behalf, as a gift to anyone who brings the head of the person who ordered the murder of the grand figure of our revolution.

Anyone who brings us the head of this yellow-haired lunatic, we would give him $80million on our behalf of the great Iranian nation. Chant if you agree”.

2. Donald Trump Has Vowed to Strike 52 Strategic Locations in Iran

President Trump declared in a tweet that the US was going to hit 52 Iranian sites “very hard” if Iran attacks Americans or US assets in retaliation to drone strike.

3. Iran Hoisted a Red Flag over Jamkaran Mosque. This can only mean one thing!

Since the late 7th century, the Red Flag has not been mounted in Iran. Following the death of Soleimani however, we see the red flag unfurled atop the Holy Dome of Jamkaran Mosque, in the city of Qom. The flag reportedly goes on to read: “Those who want to avenge the blood of Hussein”.

This is an aggregated indication of revenge on the United States. After all, Iran threatened to attack in a “crushing and powerful retaliation” to the death of General Soleimani.

4. Cardi B is apparently filing for Nigerian Citizenship.

This is where it gets bittersweet; the comic relief kind of situation. We’ll take you to where it all started:

Cardi B’s post sparked a ton of controversies; especially when she subsequently tweeted that she was picking her tribe from the Nigerian society. Although Americans have vehemently criticised her, Cardi B will just remain Cardi B. Enjoy the picture from the refurbished; Nigerian Cardi B ‘Cardijat’ and her family.

5. Iran Threatens to Blow Up The White House

On Sunday, 5 January 2020, The Iranian Labour News Agency claims Iranian MP; Abolfazl Abutorabi, warned the country could react to General Soleimani’s death on US soil.  The warning succeeds President Trump’s tweet on threatening to strike at the cultural sites in Iran.

He says: “We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing, we will respond in an appropriate time”.

He goes on to add: “This is a declaration of war, which means if you hesitate, you lose. When someone declares war, do you want to respond to the bullets with flowers? They will shoot you in the head.”
