Dunedin’s Cadbury Chocolate Carnival | Dunedin | 16th – 22nd July 2016
This week of chocolatey filled fun sees New Zealand’s City of the South get a Chocolate coating at Dunedin’s Cadbury Chocolate Carnival.
This carnival is a winter wonderland for every sweet-tooth with a wide array of chocolate-themed events across an entire week to raise money for the charities involved.
The biggest highlight has to be the famous Jaffa Race, which sees thousands of New Zealand’s iconic hard-shelled balls of orange sugar-coated chocolate rolling and hurtling down Dunedin’s Baldwin Street, the world’s steepest street. Jaffa’s have been made in New Zealand since 1931 and are a kiwi favourite. You can even help design and build the choc-tacular rolling jafa track!
Other festival highlights include the Larnach Castle Winter Ball and the Cadbury Couture Fashion Show, where entrants create wearable artwork made using only Cadbury Chocolate foils as materials and an impressive imagination. If one of your children’s best friends happens to be a Teddy Bear (or perhaps its your best friend – we wont judge!) then you can dress him/her in an outfit made with Cadbury Chocolate wrappers and get along to the Teddy Bear Fashion Parade to win irresistible chocolate prizes.
The Glenfalloch Chocolate Degustation Dinner should also definitely not be missed! This event is a spectacular escape to Glenfalloch’s beautiful garden retreat where you will be transported into chocolate heaven.
