Best German Schnitzel in Amsterdam

Restaurant Kaap de Goede Hoop claims to have the best German Schnitzel in Amsterdam. Lee and I decided to take the baby and have a family dinner to find out if this claim was true or not. Spoiler alert, it is!

Kaap de Goede Hoop (website in Dutch) is located on Overtoom next to Vondelpark. It's a small family run restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. For our baby, they had their own high chair available as well as toys for her to play with. So if you don't carry a travel high chair of your own, here at this restaurant at least you won't be stuck throughout the meal trying to eat while juggling a baby on your lap. I love holding my baby but it's always nice to be able to eat with both hands!

I had biked past Kaap de Goede Hoop several times before and was happy to finally be able to see if they truly do have the best German schnitzel in Amsterdam.

Lee and I ordered the German Schnitzel which came with fries and a side salad. For L, they didn't have any soft vegetables for children as young as her. However, the chef pureed a vegetable mix so that the baby was also able to share in our family dinner. Here is a restaurant in Amsterdam with fantastic service!

The German Schnitzel was fantastic! We ordered it with the pepper sauce and this was creamy goodness. The portions were so huge. Neither of us could finish our food. That doesn't happen often when we're eating out for a family dinner in Amsterdam. Plus, the price was very reasonable. This is someplace that won't cost an arm and a leg when you take the family out to dinner!

Huge portions for a low price

So, we got to have a delicious dinner plus the baby got to sit in her highchair and have her own specially prepared meal. All in all, a win-win situation. If you're looking for some fantastic German Schnitzel in Amsterdam, look no further. Take the family and head on over to Kaap the Goede Hoop.

I was in no way compensated for this review, I just enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share!
