Hannibal in Solden 2019, Outdoor Glacier Spectacle

The most sensational live performance at 3,000m above sea level in Sölden, Austria

The most spectacular contemporary live Performance which takes place every two years in the upper Ötzal valley on the Rottenbach Glacier is back for 2019. Hannibal will be returning to the mountains on 12 April 2019, and promises an enthralling and immersive spectacle for viewers of all ages.

Set in an open-air theatre on a glacier against nature’s dramatic backdrop, the outdoor performance fuses dancers, avalanches, snow-grooming machines, aeroplanes, helicopters, skidoos, parachute jumpers and skiers. The performance tells the unique story of the ancient world’s Hannibal of Carthage crossing the Alpine ridge in 218 BC with 60,000 soldiers and 37 elephants.

300 participants take part in this monumental performance which stimulates through music, dramatic lighting effects, colour and pyrotechnics. A true theatrical extravaganza where culture is brought to the mountains under nature’s roof.

When: Friday 12 April 2019 at 7.30pm

Where: Rottenbach Glacier in Soelden, Tyrol

Tickets: From €47 for adults, €25 for children

Direct flights are available from London Gatwick to Innsbruck. Tickets for Hannibal include return transfers by shuttle bus from Sölden to the glacier and VIP packages are available.
