New Restaurant Openings and News – May 2023

Read our guide to the best restaurants that are opening in London this May (and some from April as well).

Cantinetta Antinori

Cantinetta Antinori will open on May 1st 2023, the first UK restaurant from the renowned Antinori winemaking family.

The restaurant will bring ‘the finest Tuscan hospitality and exquisite wines’ to London, just off Sloane Street.

Harvest

Chef and restaurateur Jesse Dunford Wood will open Harvest in Kensal Rise on Tuesday May 4th, adding to his portfolio that includes Parlour (also in Kensal Rise) and Six Portland Road.

Harvest will be a “bright, light all-day restaurant” with “colourful, approachable, and seasonal” menus using British produce.

Blacklock Canary Wharf

Blacklock Canary Wharf opens mid-May in a 4,000 square foot space in Canary Wharf with 120 covers, Blacklock’s biggest restaurant yet.

Blacklock Canary Wharf will serve Blacklock’s much-loved grass-fed beef, pork and lamb chops and steaks as well as the best Sunday roast in London.

Maene

Maene is set on top of a 14,000 Sq ft Victorian warehouse in East London with a wrap-around view of Spitalfields.

The dinning space is divided into separate areas featuring an open kitchen with counter seating, a terrace, a large 18-seater dining table and a cocktail lounge.

The Campaner

The Campaner, opening at Chelsea Barracks on Friday 5th May, is the first international restaurant from Los Reyes del Mango, who are behind the celebrated Terraza Martinez and Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha in Barcelona.

The menu will focus on charcoal-grilled meats, shellfish and whole fish cooked in the Josper oven, as well as large sharing rice dishes and the monkfish and lobster casserole that have become signature dishes at Martinez. 

Lasdun

The team behind The Marksman is launching its second restaurant at the National Theatre.

There will be some new dishes as well as the most loved dishes from the The Marksman pub in Hackney.

Noble Rot Mayfair

Adding to the restaurants in Bloomsbury and Soho, Noble Rot has opened a new restaurant and wine bar in Shepherd Market.

Noble Rot Mayfair’s menu has been devised by Head Chef Adam Wood (ex-Perilla and The Square) and executive chef Stephen Harris of The Sportsman.

Noble Rot Mayfair has an excellent value set lunch (£22 for 2 courses; £26 for 3) and their most ambitious wine list yet.

Chungdam

Chungdam, a modern Korean restaurant and BBQ is now open on Greek Street in Soho.

Named after the bustling Cheongdam-dong district in Seoul, the city’s destination for food, restaurants, fashion and art, Chungdam features a combination of modern Korean cooking, traditional cooking techniques paired with the finest ingredients.

The Garden at Corinthia London

The Garden at Corinthia London has launched its Spring / Summer Mediterranean style menu from Executive Chef André Garrett’s.

Dishes range from risotto and pasta, to grilled fish, seafood, and steaks, as well as a new, lighter tiramisù to finish.

Midland Grand Dining Room

The ex-Gilbert Scott restaurant in the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel reopens as the Midland Grand Dining Room, run by chef Patrick Powell.
