When Can I Travel Again?

The answer to, “When can I travel again?” has been much anticipated. The time has come when resorts, Cruise Lines, and countries around the world are starting to open up their doors to international travelers. Many health plans are being devised or have already been set in place to keep travelers as safe as possible. The next question now is, where are you going to next? The following list will be updated as more announcements are made.

DESTINATIONS

Mexico:
There are plans for both Cancun and Puerto Vallarta to reopen early June! Government officials are hoping to resume tourism in Mexico between June 10th and 15th. Ancient ruins, outdoor adventure, and soft, sandy beaches all await!

Costa Rica:
Costa Rica is ready for travelers and so is the Diamante Eco Adventure Park! The country is scheduled to reopen on July 1, 2020. In a letter Diamante Eco Adventure Park sent to customers, they related that “…Costa Rica was named the Happiest Place in the World, and today Costa Rica is viewed Worldwide as one of the top countries managing the Covid-19 crisis. Costa Rica was also just recognized as the best country to visit post-Covid-19.”

For the safety of all visitors, enhanced sanitation measures are being set in place. From a superman zipline to viewing exotic animals, your time in Costa Rica and the Diamante park can provide one of the most remarkable travel experiences. Plus, we can’t keep Lucy the sloth waiting for much longer!

Caribbean Islands:
The Caribbean is a tropical paradise and its reopening will be a welcome relief. The island of Saint Lucia will begin a phased reopening on June 4, 2020. The first phase includes welcoming visitors from the United States arriving to the Hewanorra International Airport. Aruba plans to reopen between June 15 – July 1, 2020. Other islands such as Jamaica and the Bahamas also have plans to reopen.

Jamaica:
Bring on all things lush and green for the government has announced Jamaica will reopen its borders for international travelers on June 15th. Year-round sunny weather and stunning landscapes makes it an ideal vacation destination.

Bahamas:
Head to the Bahamas where beaches are in abundance and the underwater life is quite enchanting. It has been announced that borders will reopen to travelers on July 1st. If you haven’t started planning to go, you should!

RESORTS & OTHER

Karisma Resorts:
The Karisma property family include El Dorado Spa Resorts, Generations Riviera Maya, Azul Beach Resorts, Palafitos Overwater Bungalows, and so much more. Providing a gourmet inclusive experience, Karisma Resorts bring a whole new meaning to luxury travel. Karisma is currently providing booking flexibility, an easy rebook process anytime in 2020 or 2021, and limiting inventory as a health precaution. Beginning June 15, 2020, Karisma will undergo a phased reopening. The first phase will include hotels such as the El Dorado Maroma and Generations Riviera Maya, both located in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The wonderful Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic will not open up until phase 2 on July 8, 2020.

Playa Resorts:
The time is near when Playa Resorts will soon be welcoming travelers once again! Resorts such as the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica, and the Hilton La Romana in Dominican Republic will resume operations beginning July 1, 2020.

Walt Disney World Resorts:
One of the most exciting news we’ve received is the reopening of Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resort Hotels, which will begin on July 11, 2020. To learn about what Walt Disney World’s plans are for reopening, click on the link below.

CRUISE LINES
Many cruise lines plan to resume limited operations starting August 1, 2020. Pre-embarkation health screenings and implementing the use of onboard health protocols are just a couple of the things many cruise lines are doing to provide a safer environment and decrease the spread of disease. For other cruise lines and the start of their phased reopening dates, please see below.

      • Viking River Cruises – September 1, 2020
      • Royal Caribbean – August 1, 2020

      • Disney Cruise Line – July 27, 2020

TSA SCREENING BY WEEK
Before COVID-19 hit the world, TSA screening had well over 2 million people per day pass through. While the numbers have significantly dropped since the pandemic began, the amount of people traveling now is increasing each week.
