I’m always on the lookout to discover fun and Family Friendly Destinations. Vacations can provide some of the best moments to create wonderful memories and at the same time leave stress and the to-do lists at the front door. While this is not an all-inclusive list of every “BEST” Family Friendly destination out there, these are definitely on the top of my list.
Riviera Maya, Mexico: This place has got families returning every year. Why? It offers a fabulous outdoor playground as well as a relaxing beach setting. The Riviera Maya is the perfect place to explore ancient ruins like that of Tulum and Chichen Itza. Families can cool off at the beach and relax under swaying palm trees. Many all-inclusive resorts include kid clubs and Family activities such as pool parities. For an afternoon of pure enjoyment, families can swim with dolphins, manatees, and sea lions.
Disneyland and Walt Disney World: Regardless if it is your first or 100th time at a Disney park, it is a magical experience every time. Disney never does anything halfway, so you know that each park and “land” is going to be enchanting and full of excitement. Parades, firework displays, and show stopping performances delightfully fill up the day’s schedule. Rollercoasters and other fabulous rides are sure to entertain the entire family, while sweet treats fill the hungry cravings. Plus, there is nothing like seeing a child meet their favorite Disney character in person. Whether you are having the race of your life in California Adventure’s Radiator Springs, meeting Chewbacca in Star Wars Land, or discovering different cultures at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, there is never a dull moment.
Universal Orlando Resort: First, Harry Potter. Second, Harry Potter. Ok, if you are not a Harry Potter fan there are plenty of other attractions. Just think of Spiderman, Transformers, Jurassic Park, Despicable Me, and more. Universal makes doing extended family gatherings easy with comfortable on-site resorts, dining choices for every kind of palate, and day/nightlife activities.
Hawaii: Each island has something unique to offer for families. On Oahu, get your history lesson as you visit the Pearl Harbor historic sites, eat mouth-watering pineapple at the Pineapple Plantation, and get to know island culture at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Over on Kauai, discover hidden waterfalls as you hike through luscious greenery, gaze on Waimea Canyon, and take a thrilling boat excursion to view the magnificent Na Pali Coast. Maui will have you swimming with the turtles, driving on the Hana Highway (Road to Hana), and feasting at luaus. On the Big Island of Hawaii, enjoy delicious snow cones, visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and enjoy a manta ray night dive with a group.
London: When a real-life Queen lives in the city, how can you say no?! London is an educational playground with museums and historical sites, many of which are free of charge. It is an ideal place to try out new things and embrace other cultures. Check out the iconic soldiers in red coats and black hats during the Changing of the Guard, hop on the London Eye, see Big Ben or the London Dungeon. There won’t be enough time to see everything in one visit, but that’s one reason to come back again!
