From the Idea to Implementation...

Well, you know how it is: sometimes you desperately want something, but you don't have enough money for it. I have that problem, too. My wishes at the moment are, for example, sliding doors for my IKEA PAX wardrobe (new ones cost about € 300), a BIG flat screen TV (at least 50 inches) for the still very bare wall in my Living Room (the TV might be around € 1000) and a couple of other things I will need because I just moved into a bigger apartment.

But how can you earn a lot of money in an easy way and in a short time without prostituting yourself? It's totally simple!

I have a big apartment now and there is a lot of space for my friends to sleep over. So, why not let total strangers sleep on my couch? Well, I don't mean just Couch surfing! No. Couch Surfing is for free. I, however, want to earn money.

So I looked for a way to offer couch surfing for money and I actually found something: privat persons offering their apartment, a separate room or just a couch to people they don't know. I can do that, too! After all, I have enough space for 6 people in my Living room.

As I had met a girl from Brazil on Facebook who I already rented my living room to for a quarter of my total rent for half a year, you could say I'm used to letting strangers sleep here :)

So, let's go! I looked for web sites on which I could offer such a service. At first, I only found one (www.gloveler.de). I even got a booking shortly after I inserted my living room, however, I will tell you more about those people in my next post. After I had a quite good experience with my first guests, I continued looking for web sites to offer my couch and found 3 others: www.airbnb.de, www.wimdu.de and www.9flats.com.

I am already registered on these pages now and I am offering my living room as well as my bedroom (in the latter case I will have to sleep in the living room myself...).

Now, I only have to get a lot of bookings and I will soon be able to fulfill my wishes. I will have to pay taxes for all of this, however, there will surely be something left and I don't even have to do that much for the money :)

In my next post you can read about my experiences with my first guests.
