My Second Visitor and the Professional Photographer...

On Wednesday, September 28, I welcomed my second guest: Angeliki. She is 31, is from Heraklion (Greece) and studies archaeology. She will work as a postdoctoral fellow for the Heidelberg University for one year and was looking for an Apartment in Heidelberg.

She had booked on very short notice and everything went very fast but we connected well as soon as we met. I showed her everything in the apartment, gave her a key and answered her questions. She had only booked my Living Room for three nights, however, she hadn't gotten a definitive answer for two of the apartments she had looked at yet. The possible roommates of one of those places only said she could "possibly" move in, but not until October 10. Angeliki didn't know what to do and I think she didn't dare asking me if she could stay another couple of days at my place. But I told her immediately that it would be no problem at all. This way she even had time to look at a couple of other places. And she was totally happy and glad that I offered her this opportunity :)

On Saturday she asked me if there were any good pubs in Heidelberg because she likes drinking beer. I told her that we could go to O'Reilly's together because it's the only pub I've ever been to in Heidelberg. I even called another Greek friend who loves this pub and as she was free that night she went there with us. As my friend hat to get up early on Sunday morning, we didn't stay that long but it was a nice evening anyway.

As I had an appointment with the Photographer on that Sunday, I cleaned up the apartment a bit and after about half an hour everything looked good. At 4 pm he arrived: Jan, the photographer from airbnb.

Jan was even kinda cute which I wasn't able to see on his Facebook profile picture ;) I offered him something to drink and then the shooting began. I totally trusted him there and went back to work on my laptop. When he was done with the bedroom and the hallway, I moved all the stuff from the bedroom to the sleeping couch in the living room, we put Angelikis luggage away, and Jan took the rest of the pictures.

Jan had been here for about one and a half hours and we even talked for a bit during the shooting. He explained a couple of things about the pictures, for example, that airbnb prefers pictures in landscape format and that he can upload up to 10 pictures per room. However, he couldn't tell me whether I could show some of these pictures on my blog. That's the reason I sent an e-mail to airbnb. As they had nothing against it as long as I don't remove the watermark, I will post them next time. You can, however, also look at them in my listings on airbnb.
