In the afternoon of October 24, 2011, when I was just teaching my students, my next guest called me on my cell phone. I had given him the address where I was working at the time he would arrive, however, the Lufthansa shuttle driver didn't know where exactly it was so he dropped Tim off at the ADAC (the German Automobile Association). I told him I'd come to give him the key and so we met half way. I told him where to go and which key to use and sent him on the way. I still had to work another half hour.
Tim is from Colorado, USA, and wanted to ride to Morocco on his motorcycle. He had it Shipped to Germany, however, it was stuck in Antwerpen due to some customs problem of another person who shipped another bike in the same shipment...
As Tim is a very spontaneous person, he just left his luggage at his friends house who had the motorcycle shipped for him. Afterwards he came back to my place to pick up his backpack. He either wanted to stay a couple of days in Heidelberg or go to Paris which he actually did in the end :)
I think it is very interesting to hear when people come around as much as Tim does. For example, he was in Reykjavik just before he came to Germany and on his way to Morocco he will stop in Slovenia, Albania and Croatia. Sometimes I'm totally jealous of people who have that much time to Travel around the world... But I'm still young, maybe I will still get a chance to travel further :)
My next guests arrived the next Thursday and planned to stay until Saturday but I will tell you more about them in my next post. Now, you'll get the obligatory picture of my guest.
