What can you tell us about the area?Answer:  Great question. To start, we're a bit biased about Launiupoko as it is one of our favorite areas in all of Hawaii, but we'll answer objectively. The Launiupoko area has a strong reputation as having some of the finest, plantation-style luxury homes on Maui, with expansive ocean view corridors and a degree of privacy rarely found. So although it may appeal to those who want to quietly enjoy their property perched on the hillside overlooking the Pacific, it also has a very strong appeal to those interested in living an active lifestyle. To start, the area was developed with a hiking trail system at the forefront, to ensure a sense of community and inspire an active lifestyle. Let's take a look at the map below which details hiking trails within the area. For more hiking, head to the Lahaina Pali Trail or head Upcountry to the Waihou Spring Trail in Olinda, where cooler weather will lead to an enjoyment temperate hike. At the foot of Launiupoko, the ever-popular Launiupoko Beach Park awaits - such popularity is based not only on the park but equally so on the waters, which are the perfect setting for a plethora of watersports, from kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, body-boarding, paddling, and more. Head a bit south to some of the best snorkeling in the world, at Olowalu, or enjoy surfing at any of the nearby spots such as Lahaina Breakwall or Puamana Beach Park, or head to some of the proving grounds for the world's best surfers at Hookipa and Peahi (be forewarn, these last two are for experts).In short, whether your intent is to do the Maui Marathon, which passes through Launiupoko, or have a more relaxing perspective such as painting or yoga, the area offers a strong value proposition.
