Peacock Bass in the Amazon

The following Peacock Bass fishing report is from January, 2014:




Itapará river Fly-in Floating cabins had excellent fishing conditions. Anglers landed 395 Peacock Bass with 42 above the 10lbs mark and the largest weighing 15lbs.. Water Levels are low, making it perfect for fishing. The lower Itapara private fishery had an excellent weekend, they landed a total of 773 peacock bass with 30 above the 10lb mark, the largest was 15 lbs. Water levels are excellent

Lower Xeruini private fishery anglers started the week with a 224 peacocks score, 16 of them over the 10 pound mark and the 2 largest weighed 20 pounds. Even though it rained, water levels dropped 2 inches. The upper Xeruini group had very little rain this weekend, they started the week with a 256 Landed Peacock Bass mark with the largest one weighing 13 pounds. Water levels have dropped 2” in the last 2 days.

Weather conditions have been very good in all our private fisheries throughout the weekend. Although we had some rain at one of our fisheries, the results were good. Weather forecast looks promising for the rest of the week.
