Top 10 apps for your business trips

We've pulled together the top ten apps we recommend if you're on Business travel. Take a look at the list to ensure your trip is both cost effective and enjoyable. We've even put them in the order you might use them on your travels!
Flight Aware Flight Tracker
It's essential to check your flight status, it may even give you extra time in bed if there's a delay and you're expecting an early flight. FlightAware is one of the best in our opinion. The app allows you to track the real-time flight status and see the live map flight track of any commercial flight worldwide and general aviation (private, charter, etc) in the United States and Canada.
Oanda Currency Converter
Amongst a multitude of offerings for currency conversion we've found Oanda to be the best. As well as efficiently and easily converting 190+ currencies the app automatically lists your top 10 most frequently used currencies for easy access. A must have for any business traveller, paticularly if you're moving between countries and currencies.
Just park
If you're in a hire car or your own you will inevitably need to park it. JustPark will find you the nearest and cheapest place to do so. There are several apps offering this service but this one seems to be the most popular and global, hence it's made it to our top ten.
Sociocean
Of course we had to list our own app, even if it's still in development (just a few weeks to go!). It's due out in the next month and will allow you to locate fellow Business Travelers and Sociocean members in the area, making your business travel a much more sociable experience. You don't need to wait for the app, join today at Sociocean.com - it's free of charge, free of spam and free for life, with a multitude of tips, groups and videos to ensure your business trips are efficient and enjoyable wherever they may be. Start making your business trips an altogether more sociable experience with sociocean.com - just look for the logo.
Uber
As Uber grows throughout the world it's an essential app while travelling and saves you time looking for local taxi ranks or trying to explain where your destination is, you enter it all in the app and pay before you go. And it's all clearly listed to make claiming your expenses easier too.
Google Maps
Fancy a walk around the area you're in? Google maps is another must have app for the business traveler, if only to ensure you can get back to your hotel!
Open Table
If you don't want to eat at the same hotel every night then Open table will find you a local restaurant and you can book in advance through the app. One of the biggest restaurant apps and (we think) the easiest to use you can read reviews and ensure you're heading to a different restaurant every night with confidence based on previous ratings.
Google Translate
The second Google product in our top ten. If you're in a foreign land with no knowledge of the language Google translate will help you, whether you're checking out a menu or just trying to get by. It's not perfect but it's constantly improving and not just text now, it offers speech recognition and translation.
Around Me
AroundMe does exactly what the name suggests. If you need a local bank, gas station, hotel, coffee shop, want to watch a film or pretty much anything else then this is the app for you.
Concur
With all the restaurants, travelling, airport and other expenses you will have a mass of receipts. Make sure you claim them on all back when it comes to expenses time. Concur lets you photograph each receipt and much more to ensure the pain of filling in expenses forms on your return is a much more bearable experience.
So, that was our top ten. If you've got any other suggestions or tips for business travelers we'd be happy to hear from you, after all we're all about being sociable. Why not signup at sociocean.com today, we're not going to ask for any payment or credit card details and you can meet some other sociable business travelers, maybe on the website but we'd much prefer it to be 'offline' on your travels
