Best Water Parks in Orlando!

Experience Orlando

There’s Still Time to Get Wet at the best water parks in Orlando!

Summer’s not over yet and it’s still hot in Orlando … which means there’s still plenty of time to enjoy what Orlando has become known for … Some of the Best Water Parks in the World!

Yes, whether you’re looking to plan something fun to do for the kids, tweens, teens, or even the adults, a trip to the water park is great for all ages. But which one do you choose?

While we can’t cover every water park in Central Florida in one article, we did set out to compile a “short list” of some of the best water parks in Orlando.  We believe these are among the best water park options to consider if you’re planning a trip.

Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando

One thing we’ve found is that most families, or groups, when planning out their week in Orlando will allocate one or two days for theme parks, a day or two of golf, shopping, or pampering, and will leave at least one day open to enjoy a water park. While most hotels and vacation rental homes have really nice community pools, it’s impossible to compare to everything that the water parks of today have to offer.  That said .. Here is our “short list” of some of the best water parks in Orlando:

Universal’s Volcano Bay
Aquatica® SeaWorld’s Waterpark
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Disney’s Blizzard Beach

We first want to say that “you can’t go wrong” with any of these. They are all clean, world-class, water theme parks that are designed to entertain guests of all ages. Whether you’re a thrill seeker for water slides, love hanging out in the wave pool, or just like to float around the lazy river, these parks have it all. They also offer plenty of food and beverage options, gift shops, lockers, and showers, and are comparable in price.

That said … we’d still like to offer up some information that may help you in making a decision of which park sounds best for your family or group. Please keep in mind that this info was accurate as of this publishing date and that all ticket prices are subject to change. Let’s look at some of the best water parks in Orlando in greater detail…

Universal’s Volcano Bay

Universal’s Volcano Bay was recently added as a main attraction as part of Universal Orlando Resort. This water park is clearly a favorite as one of the best water parks in Orlando. Particularly of interest is they have found a solution to eliminate long lines at the water rides. Guests wear a waterproof wristband called a “TapuTapu” that allows them to reserve a spot in a “virtual line” and it alerts them when their time to ride is near. That way you’re free to eat, swim, or do other things in the park instead of standing in a long line … Genious!!!

That isn’t all Volcano Bay has going for it. With rides and attractions such as Waturi Beach, Krakatau Aqua Coaster and the Kopiko Wai Winding River there’s no wonder this water park has exploded in popularity. Prices start at $80 for ages 10+ and $75 for ages 3-9 with a $10 discount for Florida residents. A wide range of Cabanas and premium seating is also available at additional cost. There are also combo packages available to add Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures where you can take in some Harry Potter

Aquatica Sea World

Aquatica SeaWorld has joined the water park scene with a splash .. pardon the pun! Voted the “USA’s #1 Water Park” according to their website, this park has it all. Prices start at $64.99 same day, or $54.99 if purchase a day in advance. Currently, there’s a special for only $69.99 same day purchase that also includes “All Day Dining” .. a $34.99 value for adults, $19.99 per child.

According the their website, “All Day Dining” includes: Visit as often as once per hour at participating restaurants until published restaurant closing times. Guests can choose from BBQ chicken, pulled pork, sausage, specialty wraps, salads, kids meals, desserts, and Coca-Cola products. Now that’s a deal! Aquatica also has a “skip the line” option called “Quick Queue” which is available for an additional cost of $25 for unlimited use, or there’s a “one use” option for $10 specifically for their newest attraction “Ray Rush” … must be some line!

For those wanting to attend SeaWorld as well (who wouldn’t!), there are combo packages available to add SeaWorld, Adventure Island and/or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to your trip.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a favorite among Disney goers and is on the Disney Bus Service route. As the name suggests it’s set up with a Lagoon theme with a bunch of water rides. These include Miss Adventure Falls, the longest ride in the history of the Disney water parks! Prices start at $65 for ages 10+ and $59 for ages 3-9. If you plan on going more than twice in a year, you may as well buy an annual pass for $130 for ages 3 and up. Also, if you want a nice shady place for your family or group to land, you can get your very own Beachcomber Shack!

If you’ve lived inland your entire life but have always wanted to learn to surf, this could be your chance! Typhoon Lagoon has professional trainers ready to teach you! Advance reservations are required and it’s a bit pricey … $1,125 to $2,125 depending on how many waves you want to ride … but if you’ve got the bank it may be time to hang ten!
Disney’s Blizzard Beach is similar to Typhoon Lagoon but is rather a huge ski resort that has melted to form a water playground! Enjoy numerous attractions including Slush Gusher, Snow Stormers, Tikes Peak, and Teamboat Springs! The ticket prices are the same and Disney Bus Service is also available. Admission to both parks can also be purchased as part of Disney’s “Park Hopper” combo deals.

Blizzard Beach

If you’re at Blizzard Beach with a group or family, you may want to consider getting your own Polar Patio!
We hope this info is helpful for you! Whichever water park you choose … Have Fun!!!

If you or your family are planning a visit to the Orlando/Kissimmee area, we highly recommend staying at one of the local vacation rental home communities. Consider these communities close to the best water parks in Orlando:

Emerald Island Resort – Beautiful clubhouse and resort pool for guest usage
Encantada Resort – Mediterranean style resort with outstanding amenities
Windsor Hills Resort – Large spacious townhomes, condos and vacation homes

After all … Why stay in a crowded hotel room when you can enjoy the space and amenities of a vacation rental home for about the same price or even less?
