Here’s A Tentative Schedule For The Inaugural Evo Japan Event

The inaugural Evo Japan is set to kick off on January 26, and with less than three months to go, its organizers have shared a preliminary schedule for the event. You can check it out below.

  • Day 1: The King of Fighters XIV, Blazblue: Central Fiction, ARMS, Street Fighter V
  • Day 2: Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Super Smash Bros., Street Fighter V

It has been revealed that Street Fighter V will receive an update a week before Evo kicks off, and its post-update version will be used at the event.

We’re told that Evo Japan will share the vision and philosophy of the original Evo. Here’s how the organizers describe the upcoming event (verbatim):

EVO Japan is opening on the motherland of fighting game, with huge scale open tournament and the prize. To be the top of EVO Japan, will be a great honor to all fighting game players.

EVO Japan is not only a big tournament, but also focusing on to self-produced events by the communities, as the original EVO does. “Unite the communities”, EVO Japan will supports your ideas– such as side tournaments, side-by-side trainings, and free play — to make a great time for all fighting game players and fans.
