Bill Gates wrote a book called "Business @ the Speed of Thought.
I want to talk to you today about the notion of
"Money @ the speed of Thought".
Smart contracts....digital currencies....remote working from home. All of these developments are going to make it easier for entrepreneurs all over the globe ...and even on other planets, to create business empires all from the security of their own internet connected spaces/homes.
With the development of smart contracts, one could, hypothetically, create a business and register it virtually all in one day online. The Smart Contract system would set up an online payroll and hire people virtually all from your internet connected space....no matter if it is in the Arctic wilderness or Sub-Saharan Africa.
The stronger that satellite coverage gets over our planet and over the greater solar system, the more that we, as humans, will be able to conduct business and therefore make money "out of thin air". Money will not be Limited by time and space or raw materials.
Money will only be limited by own ideas.
While I understand the dismay that many investors feel when they talk about missing out on the times that money was backed by gold. ...I do see now money is morphing into something more flexible than a lump of shiny metal could ever be. (btw...I am not making any moral judgments about the gold standard or lack thereof) Digital money is so much more flexible than any coin or bill. Digital currencies can bounce around the solar system in fractions of a second, growing and/or diminishing based on the next generation of entrepreneurs. Groups of entrepreneurs will seamlessly operate conglomerates across the globe linked only through their virtual internet spaces and they will most certainly create fabulous empires. These empires will operate somewhat silently and at optimal efficiency, because of their virtual nature.
All leaders will need to stay up to date on the "new ways" of doing business and moving money.
Money is only limited by our own ideas of what it can do and where it can go, and what form it can take.
As society becomes more flexible in it's notions of work and business, any antiquated notions about money will fall by the wayside.
We must adapt, we must stay flexible. We must allow our minds to rethink the nature of business and work and how "it"and "we" are funded. Money meets needs ...wants ...and wishes. It will go wherever it has to , in order to meet needs....wants...and wishes.
