It is key to make the CTA clear and persuasive to encourage people to complete the action, it usually helps to tell people what’s in it for them when they get onto the site. For example, if there is more information on something, a deal they can get or even a sign up bonus.

Its key to make sure you are emailing the correct information to the right people, you must remember that every email is piece going to be targeted correctly to every person in your email mailing list. If you segregate people in the list by how you got their email address, or the demographic they are in, then you should be able to dramatically increase the conversion rate. Increasing the CTR on your email marketing is a huge factor in taking into account how successful the campaign has been. With more and more web traffic moving to mobile, this is becoming increasing important for email marketing. In fact, it probably isn’t even worth doing if your emails aren’t mobile friendly since they wont be easily readable on over half your mailing list.

Simple things like having CTAs at the top and bottom of the email or using optimized templates for mobile can really help make it convert better on mobile.

  1. Make sure you track the outcome of your emails

This may sound like a really simple one but if you don’t get enough data from your emails then it will become incredibly difficult to see what works and what doesn’t.

Metrics such as click through rate, open rate, conversion rate of particular emails is useful to see how well certain subject lines, email copy and the landing page that the drive is driven to are working.
