Who's on First?

Thank you for checking out this blog, with the general purpose to lift the mystery surrounding information Technology, called  ... the IT Lexicon.

In the modern age, we seem to be overrun with computer jargon detailing everything from smart phones, MP3 players, and GPS systems. There isn't a central resource that explains the five W's (who, what, when, why, where) and H (How) to apply all of this technology to save time, money, or enhance out lives. Many times, there isn't even a good instruction manual you can rely on to spell out many of the TLAs (three letter acronyms) required to run the gadgets.

Over the next couple of weeks, on this blog, we are going to decipher the various people, events, terms, and companies that make the IT world turn. I'll do my best to take some of the medium or advanced concepts of computing and relate them to everyday things.  I'll try to indicate why something is significant instead of spitting out ones and zeros in some coherent order to make myself look smarter. From the W3C to USB ... from Windows to Ubuntu ... we'll try to make sense of a world consumed by gadgets and more information technology than we know what to do with.
