CALL FOR PAPERS

Educational Environments that are based on virtual reality (VR) technologies,
called Virtual Reality-based Educational Systems (VRES) have opened up new horizons
in education and have the potential to offer innovative and efficient learning
activities and training procedures. They are gradually becoming an important part
of the educational technology landscape and enable learning and teaching experiences
that were not previously available. This workshop aims to (a) present and discuss
the objectives and results of the Biz4Fun Erasmus+ KA2 project (b) provide an
opportunity for attracting high quality research and development articles on use
of virtual reality technologies in education. The participants of the workshop
are expected to increase their knowledge and understanding of the ways that virtual
reality technologies can enhance education, both theoretically and practically.

The Workshop is organized in the context of the Erasmus+ KA2 Biz4Fun project and is
intended to become a forum for exchanging experiences and ideas among researchers and
practitioners who are dealing with use of virtual reality in education. It will
comprise the following types of sessions:

-Biz4Fun sessions (project aims and results presentation as well as "hands on"
experinece)
-Technical sessions (VRES research and development papers presentation)

Secondary vocational education and training teachers as well as stakeholders from
VET-HEI and organizations of the entrepreneurship sector are invited to attend
the Biz4Fun sessions. Attendance certificates will be given by the project consortium.
Researchers and practitioners in the field of VRES are invited to attend Biz4Fun
sessions and submit papers for the technical sessions. Project-based works are encouraged.

Use of Virtual Worlds in educational systems
Virtual pedagogical agents and Learning companions
User Modelling in Virtual Reality Environments
3D Visualizations and Simulations
Virtual Laboratories and experimentation
Artificial Intelligence in Virtual Reality Environments
Virtual classrooms and blend-learning educational procedures
Game-based methods and approaches
Personalized learning in Virtual Reality Environments


PAPER SUBMISSION

We are interested in high quality research and development papers on the above or related
topics. Interested authors are invited to submit original contributions to the workshop.
The papers should be submitted through the IISA-20 submission system
( http://easyconferences.eu/iisa2020/paper-submission/ ).
In the "Select Tack" page, choose "Biz4Fun Project: International Workshop on Virtual
Reality Based Educational Systems". In preparing your submission, follow IISA-20 guidelines
( http://easyconferences.eu/iisa2020/instructions-for-authors/ ). All papers will be refereed
by at least two members of the program committee of the Workshop. Accepted papers will be
presented at the Workshop technical sessions of the conference. We encourage the submission
of project-based papers.


PROCEEDINGS

Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of IISA 2020.
Extended versions of the accepted papers will be called for publication to some Springer
series volume or other official way after the workshop.

ATTENDANCE

One of the authors of each accepted paper should register for the IISA Conference and
present the work during the associated Workshop session at the conference. If none of
the authors is registered, their paper will not be presented at the Workshop and will
not be included in the IISA proceedings. Registration info is available here
