6th International Conference in Methodologies and intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning (MIS4TEL 2016)

MIS4TEL 2016
6th International Conference in Methodologies and intelligent Systems for Techhnology Enhanced Learning
University of Sevilla (Spain)
1st-3rd June, 2016

**CONFERENCE SCOPE**
Education is the cornerstone of any society and it serves as one of the foundations for many of its social values and characteristics. Knowledge societies offer significant opportunities for novel ICT tools and applications, especially in the fields of education and learning. In such a context, the role of intelligent systems, rooted in artificial intelligence, has become increasingly relevant to the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). New intelligent solutions can be stand-alone or inter-connected to others and can target not only cognitive processes but can also take care of motivational factors. Examples of such solutions are gamified systems, as well as systems based on learning methodologies that stress the role of motivation, such as cognitive apprenticeship.
The 6th edition of this conference expands the topics of the evidence-based TEL workshops series in order to provide an open forum for discussing intelligent systems for TEL, their roots in novel learning theories, empirical methodologies for their design or evaluation, stand-alone solutions or web-based ones. It intends to bring together researchers and developers from industry, the education field and the academic world to report on the latest scientific research, technical advances and methodologies.
MIS4TEL 2016 will be held in Sevilla (Spain) on June 1st-3rd, 2016, in parallel with the PAAMS'16 International Conference.

**KEYNOTE SPEAKER**
Prof. Marcelo Milrad will be MIS4TEL 2016 keynote speaker. Milrad is Full Professor of Media Technology at the Faculty of Technology at Linnaeus University (LNU) in Sweden. He is also the director of the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT).

**DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM**
The aim of the Doctoral Consortium is to provide a frame where students can present their on going research work and meet other students and researchers, and obtain feedback on future research directions. The Doctoral Consortium is intended for students who have a specific research proposal and some preliminary results, but who are still far from completing their dissertation.

All proposals submitted to the Doctoral Consortium will undergo a thorough reviewing process with the aim to provide detailed and constructive feedback. The accepted submissions will be presented at the Doctoral Consortium and published in the conference proceedings.

**SUBMISSIONS**
(1) Review process.
MIS4TEL welcomes the submission of papers with preference to the topics listed in the call for papers. All submitted papers will undergo a thorough review process. Each contribution will be refereed by at least by two experts in the field using the following set of crtiteria; relevance, originality, significance, quality and clarity.
The papers must consist of original, relevant and previously unpublished sound research efforts related to any of the topics of the conference.
(2) Submitting papers
MIS4TEL papers must be formatted according to the Springer LNCS Template, with a maximum length of 8 pages in length, including figures and references. All proposed papers must be submitted in electronic form, in PDF format, using the Paper Submission Page.
(3) Publication
Accepted papers will be included in the MIS4TEL Proceedings published by AISC series of Springer Verlag (http://www.springer.com/series/11156). At least one of the authors will be required to register and attend MIS4TEL to present the paper in order to have it included in the conference proceedings.
Extended versions of the best papers selected for the conference, as well as invited papers focusing on the aforementioned topics, will be selected for publication in either Neurocomputing (JCR IF: 1.634), Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering (JCR IF: 0.380), or Knowledge and Information Systems: An International Journal (JCR IF: 1.782), through a subsequent call and review process.
