Saint Anthony Mary Claret: Powerful Quotes on the Rosary

October 24 is the feast of Saint Anthony Mary Claret — a favorite saint that my husband introduced me to over twenty years ago when he gave a teaching on this incredible man of God. I don’t think I have ever heard of any saint who was filled with so much zeal for his apostolate. He was a monk and a mystic who exerted an unusual amount of influence over the laity by obeying the call of God.

Miracles surrounded his work. He possessed the gift of prophecy and the reading of hearts. He often saw Our Lord and Our Lady (to whom he was especially devoted), receiving from them instruction, encouragement, and prophecies. At the request of our Blessed Mother, he spread devotion to the Holy Rosary and was considered to be a latter day St. Dominic.

Saint Anthony Mary Claret: Powerful Quotes on the Rosary

The rosary should be said daily…We should meditate on the mysteries, applying them to the circumstances of our own lives.

When people love and recite the rosary they find it makes them better.

Let victory be thine, O Mother. Thou wilt conquer, for thou hast the power to overcome all heresies, errors and vice. And I, confident in thy powerful protection, will engage in battle, not only against flesh and blood, but against the prince of darkness, as the Apostle [Paul] says, grasping the shield of the holy rosary and armed with the double-edged sword of the divine word.

Ever since the year 1208, during which the glorious St. Dominic taught people to pray it [the rosary] daily, there has not been a saint nor any person distinguished for learning and virtue, nor an observant religious community, nor a well-ordered seminary, which has not had the devotion to the rosary.

The devotion to the most holy rosary is powerful enough to transmit all graces and, as we are aware from experience, it has proven to be a remedy during times of war, plagues, hunger and other calamities; in addition, those who have been troubled in body and soul, if they had recourse to the rosary, always received consolation.
