Romans: 12. 1. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
When we started looking at this subject, we saw that TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS Death, BUT TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE (Romans 8:6). The Word "death" in that verse is from the Greek term "Thanatos", which in the widest sense of the Greek connotation compromises of all the miseries arising from physical death, spiritual death and eternal death. This comes as result of being so earthly minded and material driven.
But as a believer, when you're carnal, you will experience spiritual death, physical death and then eternal death. After being born again, you need to work on your mind to remain connected to God and preserve yourself from being separated from Him. Renewing your mind is your responsibility, not God's. One of the things I said at the beginning was:
SEDIMENTARY INFORMATION CREATE THOUGHTS, SEDIMENTARY THOUGHTS CREATE A MINDSET, A MINDSET CREATES, HABITS, HABITS FORM CHARACTER, CHARACTER DETERMINES YOUR LIFE AND YOUR LIFE PLOTS YOUR DESTINY. ALL STARTS FROM INFORMATION.
So information is the root. When the wrong information prevails on the mind, there will be a problem. This was the problem and cause of the fall of Adam and Eve. The Devil presented the wrong information to them and they began to process it with their mind and instantly they saw that the fruit was good for food, pleasant to the eyes and potent to make them wise (Genesis 3:6). They never saw the fruit like that until the wrong information came and they yielded to that information and became separated from God.
The Devil penetrated their spirits through the their mind. You can't be a child of God and accept all kinds of information from the outside. Information come from the outside through what you see, hear, feel, smell and taste and then get to the brain to be processed and interpreted by the mind. These information that we receive on a daily basis do programme our mind toward a certain direction_ good or bad.
Many years ago, I annually had what is known as "Apollo", an infection of the eyes that makes them red and release mucus. I always had it anytime I look at somebody that had it. The following day I would wake up with that infection. To add to that, I kept hearing people say that when you gaze someone's eyes that have "Apollo", you'll have it also. Why was I having the "Apollo"? It was because my mind had accepted what I heard and saw. And the "Apollo" became a reality. But thank God that is history now; I have passed that level. Hallelujah! Refuse any infectious kind of information and accept the godly ones for godly results. The solution to dealing with this information that keep coming is to renew your mind with God's Word. Through God's Word you programme your mind to have a particular mindset and a mode of interpreting information and life in general.
You will have to know that evil information will always come, but you can choose which one will remain in your mind. And that's why listening to God's Word is very important. Spend time with God's Word more than anything or anyone in your life. God richly Bless you!
