Peeling Back the Layers
I have one clear memory from this trip, my first Snow. At the time, my relatives had a poultry farm with a big hen house. I remember a huge building full of chickens and there was some kind of assembly that rotated the feed around. We were walking from the house to this building after a snow. I thought it beautiful and wonderful! All I wanted to do was move over from them and walk in my own little path on the smooth white blanket. My cousin, Lukey, stopped me and said "Don't mess up all the pretty snow."
I have no idea if any adult heard him, or noticed me. For all the world I wish I had realized I didn't have to listen a cousin who was just a couple of years older and I had done what I had wanted to anyway.
What was your first snow memory? Ever have a cousin or older sibling stop you from doing something you really wanted to do? What memories did this evoke from your own childhood?
Thank you for sharing!
