Yesterday was my 70th Birthday. The Husband had requested, firmly, that I not work on that day. But I thought, well, maybe a few hours early in the day. But since making that agreement, things happened: RD got a job as bass soloist at an Episcopal Church and yesterday was our first Sunday service there. Afterwards there was a lively Mardi Gras breakfast with masks and crowns, and they all sayng H. Birthday to me. Very friendly crew.

I was filling in for another chaplain at the hospital from Saturday afternoon til Sun. afternoon, and got the first call for a death right at midnight. Back in bed by 2 am. Then church, then back to hospital to set up for 2 pm mass, then another death, home by 4:15 pm, cram a 2 hr. nap into 30 minutes, then off to a mysterious supper date with the guy in my life. SURPRISE! There were the adult children who live nearby and their spouses. I never catch on. They do this almost every year and I never get it until I see them. Then home for OPENING PRESENTS! Here's a list of the loot:

-Great set of family photos and a frame
-two packages of chocolate truffles!
-a lovely sheer scarf with danglies that goes perfectly with.....
-a red velvet skirt with slits and silver sequins
-a black hip scarf with a zillion silver coins to wiggle
-huge dangly earrings that also jingle
-A luxury kitty potty, food, scoop, litter and cat toys. Guess what??

After opoening all these great gifts, we had a demo of my new exercise routine: Belly Dancing!
