Well, this household is under New Management. With a little gentle push from a certain daughter-in-law, and reading the signs from the Spouse, I discerned it was TIME. It was also Free Pet Day for Seniors at the Humane Society.

Off we went with an apple box and a towel, to bring the adoptee home. At first we limited ourselves to the "older" cats (5 yrs & up) that were free. The rest were half price: $50.! Then RDM said, "Come look at this one." There was Jaspar: bright orange with white bib and boots. Standing tall and conversing loud and long. BUT: only 2 years old. Darn. But we kept going back to him, while he continued the conversation non-stop.

Finally the attendant said to take him into a "bonding room" OhOh. We fell for this ploy and continued the courtship. When we demurred about the cost, they said, "We'll work it out, so he can have a good home." Wheee! An hour later, paperwork done, cat resting peacefully in said box (can you believe that? no screeching, scratching nor hysteria,)we marched home with our trophy. And now the house is, as stated, under New Management. And after hiding behind the T.V. for 4 hours and a lot of cajoling, out he came, looking smug.
