U.S. Department of Treasury attempting to hide "In God We Trust"

The United States Department of Treasury release new coins into circulation - $1 coins featuring a US President to "honoring our Nation’s presidents." But what the Treasury also did was hide the U.S. Motto "In God We Trust" around the edge of the coin. This produced outrage and complaints from individual and various organization, claiming that the U.S. Mint was hiding the nation motto. It was also determined that many coins were being produced without the motto at all.

Senators. Sam Brownback, KS (R), and Robert Byrd, WV (D) introduced legislation to put the national motto back onto the face of the coin.
