 The Center Cannot Hold in W. B.Yeats and in Stephen King

1. The Second Coming  By William Butler Yeats

TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

2. The Dark Tower By Stephen King:

In the first book of The Dark Tower Series:

p. 55 -- "Things had stretched apart.  There was no glue at the center anymore."

p. 239 --  "The center had frayed---was unraveling".  "Things were not holding together."
