There is power in the blood of Jesus - Do you have it in you?

WHY IS THERE POWER IN THE Blood OF JESUS CHRIST?

To understand the power behind the blood of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, we need to understand what the blood is. Now, if you stop and think about it for a second, the blood represents the sacrifice that Jesus made at the cross. As we all know, the purpose of his coming and his death, was your Salvation. He gave his life on the cross so you would not suffer eternal condemnation.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7

Maybe this is something that you already know, but the question is: What does this mean for you? His sacrifice (His blood) gave you SALVATION and eternal life, but while you’re on this Earth, his death at the cross empowered you so you can fight and defend yourself against the attacks of Satan. When Jesus died and gave his life, he defeated the devil once and for all.

And take the helmet of SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17

There's power in His blood because his sacrifice is your salvation, and this salvation is the helmet that protects you. Now you have that power in your hands, and Satan can no longer touch you because you are covered with the precious blood of Jesus, and his blood is a reminder to Satan, a reminder of his own death. Nevertheless, the biggest misconception is that people think that by being saved, they will be protected from the attacks of Satan. This is not the case, and if this was true, we wouldn’t need to worry about Satan anymore. Spiritual warfare wouldn’t make any sense to us, because there would be no need to fight an enemy that cannot do us any harm; so, besides salvation, In order for the Blood of Christ to have power in you, you’d need to be dead to this world, you’d need to be crucified with Jesus.

“Knowing this, that our old man is CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:6-7

KNOWING WHO I AM IN CHRIST

In order for the blood of Christ to be effective in your life, you’ll need to ask yourself this question: Who am I in Christ? As we all know, we are saved by grace, and that’s good for us, nevertheless, we need to understand that salvation, although is free, it needs to be accepted in our hearts. The Lord has given us the gift of salvation, but you’ll need to open your heart and accepted, and in order to do that, you’ll need to walk in the Spirit. Yes, you heard me right! And walking in the Spirit means to be dead to this world. When a man joins an Army, the first thing that he is taught is to give up his civilian rights; he can no longer do his own will and now he has to do what he is told, whether he likes it or not, and there is a strong reason for this; if he is going to be an effective soldier on the battlefield, he needs to deny himself and give up all his desires.

If you say that you are saved and still live for yourself, you are nothing but a whole bunch of emotions; if you have decided to follow Christ and are not dead to the flesh, you might as well continue living your earthly life. If we want to be effective on the battlefield, we must be completely denied to our earthly desires, or else we would be just wasting our time. One day, certain scribe came, and said to him, Master, I will follow you wherever you go, and maybe he was expecting to get a pat on the shoulder and a big welcome from Jesus, but the answer that the Lord gave him was enough to make him turn around and go away:

“And Jesus saith unto him, the foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.”  Matthew 8:20

In other words, he said to the scribe: You say that you will follow me wherever I go? If you’re going to be with me, even the animals have a home, but I don’t have a place to lay my head, and if you follow me, neither will you. The Lord is clear and firm about following him, and we must be dead to this world in order to do his will and be effective on the battlefield. The so-called “Prosperity Preachers” are nothing but emissaries from Satan that have come to deceive you. I hear nothing about self-denial in their messages, and if this is what you follow, go there and continue living a dead Gospel that will get you nowhere near the Kingdom of Heaven.

You might get filthy rich and enjoy your earthly life, and that’s good for you, but don’t go out fighting Satan because he will cut you up into a million pieces. The message is clear and simple, if you are going to be a strong warrior for Christ and follow his ways, YOU MUST DENY YOURSELF in this world; it is what it is, I cannot put it in a nice way, either you’re all in or you’re all out.  As I said before, we are saved by grace, but if you want to be protected by the blood of Jesus, and experience his power, so you can be victorious against the attacks of the enemy, you’ll need to know who you are in Christ, and you are ONE with Him, because you belong to Him.

And if you belong to Him, you must live like He did, and his teachings are straight to the point, make no mistake about it: If you must live for Christ, you must be dead to this world.

The blood of Christ is the price that the Lord paid on the cross, and this can only mean one thing, that the blood of Christ is our salvation. When you accepted the Lord in your heart and decided to turn away from your wicked ways, automatically you were covered with the blood of Christ and became protected from the attacks of Satan. Let’s take a look at what the Bible says about our salvation:

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

Although the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit and the greatest weapon that we have, it would not work if you don’t have the helmet of salvation with you, it wouldn’t work if you’re not covered with the blood of Christ. If you don’t have this weapon with you, this is what would happen:

“And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.” Acts 19:14-16

The devil will cut you in pieces and you won’t have a chance. You might be thinking to yourself that it is enough to have accepted Christ as your Lord and savior, but I tell you that there is more than that; you might be saved, but if you’re not walking right with God, you’ll lose your helmet and your protection.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you lose your salvation; that is not for me to judge, but if you are living in sin, the Spirit is not going to be around to protect you. If you start doing spiritual warfare without the protection of the blood of Christ, it would be equal to sending a soldier to the battlefield without his equipment to guard him from the bullets of the enemy. Now that you understand the power in the blood of Jesus, the question remains: Do you have that power in you?
