God is not a Republican or a Democrat.
Nor is He an American or European—He is not even of this planet or galaxy. God does not represent any party, nationality or creed. But, He does care about and represent many moral, economic and political issues—even ones that we face today.
I happen to think that if GOD represents a particular issue, then we as citizens and responsible voters better do our homework to make sure we know where HE stands on these important issues.
Instead of stuffing GOD into our own little political boxes, we had better line up our thinking with His thinking and put ourselves into His political box.
What does GOD stand for?
- GOD stands for life. HE has created every man woman and child with a pure and perfect eternal soul. That soul is of great value to Him—even a life that is yet unborn. Jeremiah 1:5, Before you were in the womb I knew you. And before you were born I consecrated you.
- GOD is not a bigot. HE looks past ones color, race or religion into the heart. He does not judge a man by the color of his skin, but by the content of his heart. 1 Samuel 16:7, “GOD sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- GOD stands for freedom. So much so that HE gave each and every one of us complete freedom to choose our way through life—even if that way leads away from HIM. He wants our love towards Him to be given freely, not robotic and forced.
- GOD stands for traditional marriage. Genesis 2:24, “For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.”
- GOD stands for family. HE knows that strong families are the foundation of any nation.
- GOD is NOT a socialist. Yes, He stands for sharing, taking care of each other, helping the poor and others, but, He knows that when man sets up a socialistic nation—it will never work. Because man is greedy. Because man is corrupt. The only dictatorship that works is when there is a benevolent dictator in place. The only benevolent dictator that is above corruption is GOD and His Holy Son Jesus. When Jesus reigns from the New Jerusalem—we will finally have a socialistic dictatorship that works! History shows us over and over again that all socialistic dictatorships have failed epically—and will continue to fail until Christ returns to rule and reign.
- GOD is economically minded. He tells us that because of the curse, every man woman and child must toil to eat—to make a living. It however was not his first plan. He wanted us to enjoy Eden’s living, but we sinned and now we must work…hard. Genesis 3:17,18,19
- GOD is the best welfare manager. HE truly loves and cares for the poor. HE wants the poor to move beyond the chains of poverty into His freedoms and blessings. James 1:27 says that the perfect religion is taking care of the widows and the orphans. But, it is not up to the state or government to do that—it is up to followers of GOD to take care of the hurting.
As responsible voters—no—as Godly voters, we MUST line up our thinking with HIS thinking and vote accordingly.
We MUST take a stand for things that HE takes a stand for.
We MUST be true disciples of Christ—perfect mirror images of HIM—and vote like HE would.
If any of the issues that are important to GOD fall below issues that are on our candidate shopping list, then it’s time to make a new list.
Our shopping list’s top concerns should be moral issues:
- Does my candidate stand for life?
- Does my candidate want to protect the most vulnerable of our citizens?
- Does my candidate value legal minorities?
- Does my candidate stand for traditional marriage?
- Does my candidate protect my freedoms?
- Does my candidate care for the hurting, down trodden, and poor?
So, there you have it, my political rant. It however, is a rant that is based in truth, love of GOD, and love of country! I am zealous for this land of ours—an experiment of freedoms. I feel that we are on a precipice about to go over. That is unless we wake up, take a step or two away from the danger, and vote like Jesus would.
