How To Deal With Tragedy

Are you facing down a Tragic incident?          Have you dealt with tragedy in the past?

How did you make it through?

How do you deal with tragedies in your life?

I have a friend who lost her only two children when their car crashed off of a bridge and into a river. Both of her children were injured in the crash and then drowned in the river.

Can you even imagine this sort of pain?
I know I can’t.

In recent news headlines we were watching a tragic incident played out before our eyes. Weather you believe Judge Kavanaugh or Dr. Fords testimony…you could say that both sides are a tragedy. One claims he is falsely accused. And if it is true, his name will forever be tarnished. That is tragic. The other claims she has been assaulted. And if that is true, this too is tragic.

This world is a dark place. Evil stuff happens. Evil people do evil unthinkable things to others. This makes me SICK!!

I HATE EVIL!!!

I hate it because it has the potential to ruin a life forever! TRAGIC!!!!

Joseph from the Old Testament lived a tragic life as well. His brothers hated him, they beat him, threw him in a pit, wanted to murder him but instead sold him off to slavery. In slavery for sooooo many years, Joseph was beaten, falsely accused and forgotten. But, he stayed hopeful in His GOD and faithful to HIM. He believed completely in God’s goodness.  Eventually, he was not only released from prison, but he was made second in command of the most powerful nation on the earth at that time.

Then, when Joseph met up with his brothers years later, he offered them forgiveness instead of revenge. Love instead of hatred. In fact he said, “What you meant for evil, GOD meant for good.” Because of Joseph, all of Egypt was saved along with Joseph’s family.

But, what if Joseph became bitter and angry at GOD. What if he gave up?

That would have been the real tragedy!!

So, dear sister. Whenever you are facing down trials, hardships and even tragedy…hang onto your Father who loves you. Trust that He is near. Trust that He is holding you. Trust that He knows your pain and is collecting all of your tears.

It is true, and no truer words have ever been spoken.

The only way to healing from tragic events, is to hang on to your Good Father! Let the pain drive you to Him.

Remember, I am praying for you. Blessings!  Mary
